Betsy Weber tells us about Fog Creek Software's service called Copilot, which can be used for remote computer assistance over the web.
Here's a great word-of-mouth idea: they're giving it away for free all day Sunday for Mother's Day.
That's one way to leverage the built-in marketing potential around a holiday and offer a bite-size chunk version of your service.

That's such a great idea! I'm sure most of their customers can relate to fixing Mom's computer. This is a great example of companies thinking of their customers not just as people who pay, but people who care.
Agree with Benjamin and the best part of all is that it applies to the smallest of companies and mega-caps, and everyone in between.
So the questions is: how did it work out? Obviously, we'll have to wait to see what returning customer numbers look like over time, but what was the initial response?
