How Starbucks Saved My Life
Great title for a movie, right?
Looks like it will be, with Tom Hanks starring and Gus Van Sant directing. With that pairing, there's lots of opportunity for authenticity.
And considering how many livelihoods depend on Starbucks (it's the least expensive meeting space in the world), and how everyone has an opinion about the company, it's a movie meme I imagine that many, many people can grasp. Maybe even embrace.

What is with Tom Hanks and fixing his movie characters in a "third place"?
First it was the giant Borders-like book chain in "You've Got Mail." Then he embarked on a journey of self-discovery on an island. Then he finds himself living in an airport terminal.
For once, I'd like to see Hanks do a Sergio Leone western.
